Retail businesses were invited to the family-owned and run Marsham Court Hotel Bournemouth on Thursday 26th October to find out about the importance of retail in the tourism industry, and information on how to enter and get involved with the new 2018 Bournemouth and Poole Tourism Awards (BAPTAs).
Past winners, sponsors and businesses from the retail sector in the BH post code area attended the event and enjoyed an evening of networking with drinks and canapes supplied by the hotel.
Said Rosie Wallace, Hotel Manager, “The Marsham Court are delighted to be sponsoring the Best Retail Experience Award for the 2018. We are firm supporters of the awards as they are so important to our team, our customers and to our marketability as a business.
We are celebrating our 30th anniversary as a business and we decided to sponsor the BAPTAs to give something back as we truly believe they are an integral part of the tourism industry and an amazing series of events which we all look forward to each year. We feel passionately about supporting the retailers and we are looking forward to meeting with them and engaging with as many businesses as possible which have an impact on the tourism and leisure economy in the months ahead.”
Said Jackie Phillipson from the BAPTAs and ROUTEpr, “The 2018 awards have expanded into the whole BH post code area, they celebrate businesses who have a direct impact on the tourism destination. The Best Retail Experience Award highlights the businesses in the BH postcode area who provide an excellent customer service and retail offering to tourists visiting the area.
These can include: clothing, jewellery, homeware, lifestyle, books, or any business that offers a retail experience to tourists. For more information on how to get involved and enter the BAPTAs visit www.bapta.co.uk.”
