‘Retiring Partner’ Webinar run by Saffery Champness Chartered Accountants

On 12th October, Saffery Champness ran their first retiring partner webinar which was aimed at those partners in their final five years of working in a professional practice.  Jamie Lane, partner in the Bournemouth office chaired the event, supported by Ian Harlock-Smith, Nick Chetwood and Skye Chalkly-Maber of Farley & Thompson.

Jamie discussed the psychology of retirement and also the importance of working on your succession, before Ian explained the challenging rules regarding taxation on retirement, especially in relation to those partners operating in a traditional partnership model.

Finally, Nick and Skye outlined some valuable ideas around retirement planning, both up to and following retirement, giving the audience some great tips to improve personal wealth.

Jamie Lane commented, “Rhis was the second in our new annual webinar programme aimed at supporting our professional practice clients and contacts through the journey into, through and away from professional practice partnership life.  We are grateful for the support from Farley & Thompson and look forward to providing more insight from our national practice group in the next few months.”
