The Blackmore Vale offers free listings to all in Lockdown Supplement.

The digital Blackmore Vale is quickly pulling together a Lockdown Supplement, to go direct into almost 10,000 homes throughout the Blackmore Vale in the coming week.

Entirely free for all local businesses to list themselves, the full colour magazine directory will provide details of everyone still operating throughout lockdown – whether purely online, or by pivoting their usual services –  alongside community support groups.

‘We want to provide a reliable resource throughout the coming winter’ explains Laura, co-owner and editor of the digital Blackmore Vale monthly magazine. ‘It’s a standalone publication which contains the most up to date information of local businesses. There’s a very real desire among the community for ‘shopping local’ and supporting SME’s who give so much back to the communities in which they are embedded – but they need to know who’s there to be able to do so’

‘This is not a money-making deal for us – far from it, we’re footing the costs ourselves’ continues co-owner and husband Courtenay ‘we simply feel deeply that those of us in a position to help should be standing up and doing so, in any way we can. For us, that’s simply utilising our digital skills and our broad readership to connect as many people as possible with their local businesses across the area.’

‘The joy of being digital is that it can be endlessly updated and added to’ adds Laura ‘Even after it’s live we can continue to amend it in real time, meaning we can remain nimble and adaptive as the winter progresses. Whether it’s a pub switching to takeaways, or an estate agent running virtual viewings – our readers may not be leaving their homes, but can still support the local economy’

If you intend to maintain some sort of business operating after Thursday,  you can add the details here.

It’s a simple form, and entirely free for any business serving the Blackmore Vale region.

The digital Blackmore Vale will be unaffected by the lockdown restrictions – continuing to publish its 90-page glossy colour digital magazine on the first Friday of every month (see the last issue here), and sending it direct into the homes of the almost-10k subscriber list.
