Trethowans’ people brave the shave for Julia’s House

A team of Trethowans people have shaved their lockdown hair to join the ‘lockdown buzz club’ and raise funds for Dorset and Wiltshire-based charity, Julia’s House.

The original plan was to get a group of people together to shave their heads for Julia’s House and donate the cost of a hair cut, but so far they have raised over £900.

Mark Nixon, Partner in the Corporate team and Trustee of Julia’s House said: “Charities have been hugely affected by the Coronavirus as all of the events which they would have been holding at this time have been cancelled. As a Trustee of Julia’s House, I wanted to find a way to help them raise some funds during this difficult time. Many families rely on the services they offer and we need to make sure this can continue.”

Martin Edwards, Chief Executive of Julia’s House, added: “The Trethowans crew have gone for crew cuts and shown they can be shorn in style. It’s a cutting-edge idea and the long and the short of it is that we’re very grateful.”

Julia’s House provides frequent, flexible care for children with life-limited or life-threatening conditions to give their parents a much-needed break. Amazingly, Julia’s House has to raise 95 per cent of the money it needs each year to run this vital service.
