Utility Point win top awards

Poole-based energy supplier Utility Point Ltd is celebrating after being named in the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For list.

The company, which was only formed a little more than two years ago, beat competition from across the country to feature in the esteemed Best Small Companies category.

CFO and co-owner, Simon Yarwood said: “It is an honour to be part of something so prestigious, and to be named in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list is a very special moment.

“This is a credit to everyone involved with the company. They have all worked tremendously hard over the last two years, building the brand and making the business the success it is today.”

The business was also named sixteenth in the Top 75 Best Companies to Work For in the South West, at the ceremony held at London’s Battersea Evolution.

Head of Human Resources, Darren Taylor, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Utility Point has been recognised as one of the best companies to work for in the South West, in this our first year of entering.”

The double achievement caps a triumphant few months for Utility Point. Inclusion in the Sunday Times lists follows on from being awarded the highest available three-star rating by Best Companies, whose accreditation programme is the standard for workplace engagement.

“Organisations like Utility Point Ltd have continued to focus on their employees and have been rewarded with an engaged workforce who tell us that this is a best company to work for,” said Jonathan Austin, CEO & Founder of Best Companies.

Despite the recent notable successes, Simon Yarwood feels that there is much more to come. “The journey has only just begun. Our Utility Point family should be very proud of itself,” he said.
