Yellow Buses Appoints New Head Of Commercial

Yellow Buses, the Bournemouth-based operator, has appointed Simon Newport as its new Head of Commercial.

The experienced industry executive has previously worked as general manager for Dorset Buses – part of the First Bus group – along with numerous other roles.

His brief at Yellow Buses includes scheduling, sales, marketing and customer service.

He is working under new managing director David Squire at the operator whose fleet covers Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and East Dorset.

Simon said: “This is my 20^th year in the industry and this opportunity was a great chance to work for an iconic brand.

“Of course I was well aware of Yellow Buses before joining and I’ve been struck at what a great team there is here.

“I am very much looking forward to the future and there are exciting times ahead – Yellow Buses are going places.

“Already I’ve developed a strong relationship with the managing director David Squire.

“Our aim is to provide a great service to our passengers and entice more people in the conurbation to use Yellow Buses.”
