Keyfort Ltd Support Disability Charity Recycle Christmas Trees

Keyfort Ltd is proud to be supporting Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, with its annual Christmas tree recycling scheme, taking place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 January across Poole, Bournemouth and East Dorset.

As part of the partnership, Keyfort Ltd is providing its FreightVista software to assist and streamline the scheme. The proprietary software, designed in conjunction with the University of Southampton for Oxfam, will support the logistics of the initiative to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Diverse Abilities historically spends days collating, organising and route planning data for their Christmas tree campaign but as the recycling project has gone from strength to strength each year, with ever increasing requests for collections, the charity were in need of a system that would efficiently respond to the increasing workload via automation.

Keyfort came to the rescue with its wealth of experience with both in-house IT systems and software engineers. The company specialise in helping organisations migrate from existing systems to where they want to be through effective implementation of the most current technology to ensure security, reliability and resilience. Keyfort has been looking after a national customer base for 18 years and it does this from a Bournemouth based head office and a secondary office in Hull.

David Bright, national business development and senior account manager at Keyfort Ltd, said: “It is a pleasure to be working alongside the team at Diverse Abilities to help with the Christmas tree recycling campaign. Our software will help increase productivity and save fuel costs which in turn will improve the funding that goes where it is truly needed.”

Fiona Hansford, corporate and community manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “This will be the third year of collecting and recycling Christmas trees following the huge success the previous two years. Last year we collected 447 trees and raised £3,469, thanks to the local community signing up to recycle their festive tree.

“We would like to say a massive thank you Keyfort, and our other local sponsors Maidmans Moving & Storage and Timbers Tree Care, who are supporting the initiative by giving up their time and resources to help with the collections, route planning and chipping of trees.”

To have your festive tree recycled, Diverse Abilities is asking for a minimum donation of £5 and your tree will be collected over the first weekend of January. All you need to do is book via Diverse Abilities, leave your tree outside your home and they will collect hassle free.
