Caterpillar Marine Power UK Ltd to show support to local Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) branch

Wimborne, UK – Employees at Caterpillar Marine Power UK Ltd (CMPUK) are delighted to share that they have chosen MNDA East Dorset and New Forest as their nominated charity for a third consecutive year.

Supporting a local charity is an integral part of the working philosophy and community at CMPUK in Wimborne which manufactures electric generator packages, auxiliary and propulsion engines for marine applications around the world. All employees at the facility can put forward a charity in which fundraising activities support. The nominated charity remains in place for a 2-year period, however with reduced funds raised in 2020 due to COVID-19 it has been agreed to keep the charity on for another year.

“Fundraising over the past 12 months has been a challenge and whilst we raised what we could, the charity committee asked all employees if they wished to keep the charity for an additional year,” comments Jude Castell Customer Services Representative and Charity Committee Chair for CMPUK based on the Uddens and Ferndown Industrial Estate. “Our fundraising events are based either around activities at the facility and organised local challenging events such as the Plane Pull and running events, with many working from home and organised events on hold, I am delighted everyone wishes to continue their support.”

CMPUK has already donated more than £7500.00 to the East Dorset and New Forest branch of Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND). The money raised goes to the local branch with their sole aim is to serve and support those who are affected by MND, this includes people with MND, their carers, family and friends, and anyone who has been touched in some way by the disease.

Over the next 12 months, CMPUK’s charity committee will be organising events and looking into local events where the employees can join to raise as much as possible where all funds are matched by the company before being presented to the charity.
