Lisa McKenzie, secretary at Humphries Kirk in Crewkerne, is committed to doing one challenge a month for charity. Humphries Kirk is a leading law firm with offices in Dorset and Somerset.
Raising funds primarily for Cancer Research, Mind, Parkinson’s UK and Shelter, Lisa has completed the following challenges so far this year:
- Boxing Day Swim at West Bay, Bridport
- Just Water January – only consumed water for the whole of January
- Facebook Free February – spent the whole month without any social media
- Wiggle Spring Sportive – cycled 30 miles around the New Forest in 2 hours and 15 minutes
- Dorchester Half Marathon – completed in 3 hours
- Bakeathon – raised over £250 over a 2 week span of baking cupcakes and brownies
- Charity Abseil – 174 ft. down the Jurassic Skyline Tower in Weymouth
Lisa is a secretary in the land law department at Humphries Kirk Crewkerne and still has five challenges to complete before the end of the year to complete her ‘one-a-month’ challenge. She commented: “I set myself a target at the beginning of the year of achieving £1,000 and I’ve raised £546 to date so I’m really happy with that.
“I wanted to make 2018 a year of personal challenges and positive achievements and would like to thank everyone for their support so far.”
The Jurassic Skyline Tower abseil raised funds for Julia’s House, SEA LIFE Trust, Merlin’s Magic Wand Charity, SafeWise and The Fire Fighters Charity.
