Dorset-headquartered cyber-security company C3IA Solutions has recruited two new staff – including the former attaché at the British Embassy in Washington DC.
Colonel Stewart McConnell has joined the fast-growing business along with fellow Royal Corps of Signals veteran Major Graham Moody.
Between them, the pair have almost 70 years’ experience in the military and bring vast knowledge and expertise.
Both shunned large, corporate businesses in favour of the dynamic C3IA Solutions that now has more than 100 workers and operates across the country and abroad.
Stewart is working within the ICT and engineering side of the company with Graham engaged as a Principal Consultant on the Threat and Risk Management team.
Stewart, who was latterly working to co-ordinate the UK-US defence relationship and bring the countries closer, said: “I chose C3IA because of its personal approach, its people and its professionalism.“It develops great relationships with clients whether they are government agencies or within industry.
“I will be dealing with information assurance, technology and engineering.”
Graham added: “I have worked on contracts for large businesses but was delighted to join C3IA because it is a forward-looking company.
“I will be providing expertise in protecting information and systems. Most problems stem from companies getting the technical side right but failing to do the same for the other aspects of security.”
Both Stewart and Graham know Poole-based C3IA founders Matt Horan and Keith Parsons from their time in the Royal Signals.
Matt said: “Recruitment is a major issue in cyber-security and we have an advantage over many because we know such good people from the military.
