Emergency services highlight best practices for critical incidents

Emergency services highlighted best practices for critical incidents at an industry seminar hosted by RockReef & Key West on Bournemouth Pier and attended by attraction businesses and industry representatives from across the region.

The event was organized by Vertex Training and focused on what happens immediately after a serious accident or incident, what you can expect to happen, who will arrive on site, what type of questions they will ask, what information they will want and how staff can be supported.

The day included presentations from agencies & organisations who would attend the scene following a serious accident/incident and included the role of the emergency services and a practical demonstration by the Fire Brigade of a complex rescue on the zip tower.

Emma Bell, Director of Vertex commented, “’The Vertex Industry Event is an opportunity for everyone involved in the ropes course, adventure park and zip wire industry to come together, whether they be a multi-site operator, a builder, inspector, trainer, a small independently owned operation, PPE Reseller or an instructor.

“It’s a yearly event that is aimed at sharing best practice, giving time to chat to colleagues, attending informative and challenging workshops, getting involved in practical demonstrations and most importantly ensuring we all continue to provide the best possible experience for our customers and great places to work for our employees.

“This year our event was held at RockReef & Key West on Bournemouth Pier – a fantastic venue where we were looked after so well. If you’re thinking of holding a corporate event, then we cannot recommend Bournemouth Pier highly enough!”
