Fitness Garden For St. James’ First School

A fitness garden is now in operation thanks to a donation from local business J.P. Morgan.

“It has made a real difference to the children and is a very popular play time activity,” says Jacqui Booth, head teacher. “It is extremely important to help the children remain fit and healthy and to encourage them to take part in more regular physical and social activity. They have been brilliant in taking it in turns to use the equipment and they certainly have a lot of fun using it. We are very grateful for the donation from J.P. Morgan which enabled us to go ahead with the project.”

J.P. Morgan employs 4,000 people at its technology and operations centre in Bournemouth and has a strong history of community engagement.

The children were able to put forward their suggestions as to what should be purchased with the donation and then the final decision was made.

“The fitness garden can be used by all the children so it had the widest possible appeal,” added Jacqui.

There are further projects planned to benefit the children so any businesses who might be interested in becoming involved are asked to contact the school.
