Game on at Wimborne Cricket Club

Big hitters from the legal world have thrown their support behind Wimborne Cricket Club.
Regional law firm Ellis Jones Solicitors – with offices in Wimborne’s East Street – has stepped up to support the side for the sixth consecutive year.
Players from the club’s adults and juniors’ teams are now proudly turning out in kits bearing the business’ name following renewal of the sponsorship deal.
Nigel Smith, Managing Partner of Ellis Jones, said: “It’s a privilege to support Wimborne Cricket Club.
“It’s a club at the heart of the community which provides people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to play the sport, including many youngsters.
“We are particularly impressed with the way that the club continues to find ways to make cricket accessible for all.
“The club has worked hard at helping making cricket a truly gender-balanced sport, for example the club has really successfully ladies and girls’ teams.
“I hope our continued support and the new kit helps Wimborne push the boundaries of success over the season ahead.”
Ellis Jones – with more than 170 staff including 22 Partners – has sponsored Wimborne since 2018.
Wimborne not only fields a Dorset Premier League side, but also has three more senior teams along with evening, Sunday, ladies and 10 youth teams and an under-19s side.
Chairperson Charlotte Randall said: “It’s a pleasure to team up with Ellis Jones once more.
“We are grateful for its support, which has allowed the club to grow on and off the pitch.
“Its commitment to the community matches our own and we are very much looking forward to the season ahead.”
