Greendale Construction raises £3660 towards 7 year old Harri Honeyfield’s life changing surgery

Chartered Builders, Greendale Construction Limited has raised an incredible £3660 for the Hope 4 Harri charity which will go towards life changing surgery and post-operative physiotherapy to vastly improve seven year old Harri Honeyfield’s mobility and quality of life.  Hope 4 Harri was chosen as charity of the year for 2024 by Greendale’s employees, and will see them raising funds for Harri by holding various events throughout the year.

Harri sadly suffered an Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy event during his traumatic birth which left him with multiple organ failure. Having spent the first 3 weeks of his life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where he received brain cooling treatment, Harri gradually recovered but was left with a severe brain injury, and later diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay, and Epilepsy.
Harri’s parents. Andrea and Simon Honeyfield started the charity Hope 4 Harri, to raise funds for treatment, and awareness of Harri’s condition.

Andrea Honeyfield explained: “Harri has spasticity in all his limbs and his gross motor functions are severely impaired causing him daily mobility challenges such as only being able to walk on tip toes. This results in issues with his balance and coordination, making him fall frequently.  Harri has recently been offered the chance to have Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery to permanently remove the spasticity in his legs, although this isn’t available on the NHS for him, meaning it must be self-funded. Post-surgery, Harri will require intensive physio rehab for 2 years, along with continuous focus at home to build his strength and help him learn new patterns of movement to make it safer for him to mobilise independently.  The money raised by Greendale Construction will go towards Harri’s surgery and post-op rehab, which really is going to be life changing for him!”

Maria Seabright, Finance and HR Director, Greendale Construction said: “Yet again, Greendale is overwhelmed by our fantastic team for helping to raise so much money for Hope 4 Harri.  We raised £1910 from our Christmas party raffle and were able to top that up by generous donations from subcontractors, making that a total of £3660 for Hope 4 Harri.  We are incredibly grateful to all our staff, suppliers, subcontractors and everyone who very generously donated prizes which all helped tremendously to raise this amount, and we very much look forward to continuing our fundraising  for Harri throughout 2024.”
