Gulmay couch keeps skin cancer patients

A £2,000 donation from a local company has gone towards the purchase of a Gulmay Couch which is used to help patients who have skin cancer.

This is an adjustable couch used for patients receiving radiotherapy treatment. It provides support in various positions making treatment more comfortable and effective.

“We’re so grateful for the support from J.P. Morgan which has helped us make this possible,” says Sara Fripp, Fundraising Manager for Poole Hospital Charity. “The specialist couch for radiotherapy was one of 5 items that formed our Christmas wish list. We’re thrilled to announce that our campaign was a huge success raising over £37,800, our huge thanks to J.P. Morgan and our local community for making this happen.”

Russell Palmer and Linda Jessop two members of the J.P. Morgan Community Relations Committee were able to visit Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

“We are delighted to have helped in the funding of this equipment,” says Linda. The Hospital advises this couch makes a real difference and will benefit patients and staff here in the Radiotherapy unit.”

(J.P. Morgan employs 4,000 people at its technology and operations centre in Bournemouth and has a strong history of community engagement).
