Hall & Woodhouse Celebrates Its Retired Team Members At Pensioner’s Lunch

Hall & Woodhouse, the leading independent family-owned Dorset brewer with an established pub estate across the south, held a lunch for retired team members to celebrate the company’s Founder’s Day.

The annual event is held for past team members of Hall & Woodhouse (H&W) who have worked continuously for the company for more than 15 years. Mark Woodhouse, Chairman, and Anthony Woodhouse, Managing Director of H&W, host a complimentary three-course lunch each year in either a newly opened or refurbished pub across the estate. This year H&W held the lunch at The Grasshopper in Bournemouth Road, Poole, to celebrate the £1.8million makeover of the pub. Entertainment was provided throughout the lunch by magician Clive Greenaway, who spent time with each guest performing an array of tricks.

Anthony Woodhouse, Managing Director of Hall & Woodhouse, explained: “Hall & Woodhouse is a values-led business where the team is part of the family and the family is part of the team. It is important for us to keep in touch with our past team members and this is our way of saying thank you for their loyal and dedicated service, which they provided the company with for many years.

“Teamwork is at the heart of our success due to the team working together to provide excellent hospitality for our guests. Our Pensioner’s Lunch recognises this and gives back to our extended team with good company, food and entertainment.”

Hall & Woodhouse is a local independent family company that leads the UK market in brewing and hospitality. The company has a collection of around 200 beautiful pubs, stretching from Bristol to Exeter, London to Brighton. The business is dedicated to supporting the Dorset community and its causes, having invested over £30million into the county since 2013, on top of their regular and extensive charity donations.

H&W’s Founder’s Day is celebrated annually in June to mark the day the company was founded. To coincide with this celebration, team members and regulars at all of the managed pubs take to the streets to tackle litter in the local areas. H&W’s pubs are hubs in the community and so to celebrate the day, the business helps to keep communal spaces clean and tidy. All participants are rewarded with a slice of cake and a bottle of specially brewed Founder’s Ale.
