Private medical insurance company Health-on-Line shows true Christmas spirit by donating presents, hampers and money raised on the Christmas Jumper day to charity.
Christmas festivities are in full swing at Health-on-Line this year! Employees from its Bournemouth offices were encouraged to get into the Christmas spirit by taking part in numerous seasonal activities; including a Hideous Christmas Jumper competition, present donation and a massive Christmas Hamper Challenge.
Over the last three years Health-on-Line has continued to pledge its support to various charities through their internal Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. In 2017 alone the company raised over £10,000 for three charities as chosen by its staff: Bournemouth Hospital Charity, Diverse Abilities and Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
The Christmas Hamper challenge was inspired by one of the Health-on-Line’s sales agent, after they donated food to a family that could not afford a Christmas dinner last year, which encouraged the rest of the company to support those in need on a wider scale in 2017.
Michelle, a member of Health-on-Line’s Charity Panel, said:
“Christmas is a time of the year that some people may be forgotten, so it’s nice to give them that extra something. We collected Christmas hampers last year, but on a much smaller scale; this year we have challenged every team at Health-on-Line to create a hamper for children and adults supported by Diverse Abilities, filled with food, treats and some alcohol, and they were over the moon!”
This year the company donated over 30 hampers to Dorset-based charity Diverse Abilities, who support individuals and families with physical and learning disabilities.
Alison Skinner, Team Leader at Diverse Abilities, said:
“I would like to say a massive “thank you” to the staff that donated the items for the Christmas hampers. The adults we support are truly amazing people and on their behalf, thank you so very much and Merry Christmas to you all!”
Other activities included a Horrendous Christmas Jumper Competition, which raised over £126 for all three charities, and a gift collection for patients with dementia who will be spending Christmas at the Bournemouth Hospital this year.
Christmas celebrations will continue at the Bournemouth Christmas Market, sponsored by Health-on-Line, offering entertainment for the whole family with a Santa’s Grotto, an ice skating rink and market stalls with a variety of traders until the 4th of January 2018.
