Dorset Business Mentors is an acknowledged centre of excellence in the UK whose mission is to improve the resilience, and facilitate the growth, of Dorset businesses. The programme encourages and supports ambitious owners and senior managers of businesses at all stages of development to realise their potential. This is achieved by linking 1:1 with volunteer mentors who have a wide range of backgrounds and extensive experience running their own businesses, in senior industrial or commercial roles, or in the professions. This announcement follows a period during which Dorset Business Mentors stepped up with a tailored Business Resilience Programme at the onset of the C-19 pandemic, a service which saw applications for mentors triple at launch. Today the programme’s 130 mentors, who represent an incomparable resource in the UK, are helping hundreds of Dorset businesses move through and forward from challenges faced this year; to revisit long term vision, to develop short-long term strategy, and to realise their plans to build ambitious and resilient models for the future.
The core offer from Dorset Business Mentors is for individual business owners to be linked to a mentor 1:1 in return for a contribution to administrative costs of just £200 for up to 12 months, renewable annually thereafter. Furthermore, the programme enables business owners to access additional expertise among the mentor cohort as needed, role mentoring for senior management, fully funded skills development courses and peer to peer networking opportunities.
