A trek/climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro is currently being organised for February 2024 for a team of six staff from HMP Guys Marsh.
Within the team of six, three are former Royal Marines and one a former Army soldier, two have recently been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of previous military experiences and one team member has had stress related issues from working within the prison environment.
This trip is being self-funded with the prison service, allowing the time off to conduct this.
The team are conducting this trek in order to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charities which are PTSD Resolution and the Staff Welfare Fund within HMP Guys Marsh, both charities have been extremely helpful to many staff within the establishment.
The team are currently looking for a sponsor to help with some kit/equipment costs that the team require to purchase at a cost of £2000.
In return, your company/business logo will be placed on all clothing and will be mentioned in all media/social media articles/releases.
If you can help the team achieve its goal of both summitting Mt. Kilimanjaro and raising as much money as possible by sponsoring, please get in contact with Simon Hicklin, Team Leader, simon.hicklin@justice.gov.uk / 01747 856435
