The real estate team of leading law firm, Lester Aldridge has successfully advised the University of Southampton on its acquisition of the Sir James Matthews Building in Guildhall Square, Southampton from Solent University.
With a 100,000 sq. feet of space, the purchase extends the University of Southampton’s city centre estate and the re-vamped building is expected to be ready to open this calendar year.
Bethan Dodd, Partner, said “It has been a pleasure working with the University of Southampton on this project. Timeframes were critical to ensuring that the University were able to get into the building to commence their works in time for the next academic year, and it is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the team at the University that we were able to achieve this. Given our office is only moments away we shall be watching with interest as the refurbishment takes place and the building opens. The new facility should provide a real boost of energy to our city centre.”
Lester Aldridge provides legal advice and assistance to clients nationwide in all legal aspects of real estate. The firm’s real estate group works closely alongside other teams providing a seamless and unified service to its clients in the sector.
