Poole Park will be full of colour and light on Saturday 21 April during the Dorset Neon Run in aid of local disability charity, Diverse Abilities.
A team of 10 employees from local insurance company LV= have signed up to the event and will be glowing up the night as they run, walk or dance around the 5k route later this month.
Local people still have the chance to join LV= and take part in the event themselves. Participants will be provided with a Dorset Neon Run t-shirt, glow sticks, bracelets and neon paint to help light up the night.
Karen Mullen, from LV=, said: “I have been supporting Diverse Abilities for a few years now. A personal reason for taking part in the Dorset Neon Run is that my brother was kindly supported by the charity’s advice service. Taking part in the run is my way of saying thank you and giving something back.
“As LV= is a large company, opportunities like this are great for bringing people from different areas of the business together. It’s also a fantastic chance to do something fun that is away from our day to day job. As a team, we just think Diverse Abilities is fantastic and we just want to continue supporting in any way that we can.”
During the Dorset Neon Run, local radio station Hot 102.8 will be providing sizzling sounds and there will be a warm up from a clubbercise instructor just before setting off to glow up the 5k route.
Lauren McCullough, events manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “We are extremely excited for our second Dorset Neon Run taking place in Poole Park. Last year was so much fun and everyone had a fantastic time while raising £25,000 for Diverse Abilities. We hope many more local people take part in our neon run this year which will help us light up the lives of children and adults living with disabilities in Dorset.
The Dorset Neon Run is open to anyone over the age of 12. The event opens at 7pm, with the warm up at 9.10pm and the race starting at 9.30pm. To find out more or sign up visit www.dorsetneonrun.com
