Moore International Buys Ashley Power

Mark Moore, Managing Director of Upton-based power transmission specialists Moore International, along with his brother Sales Director Colin Moore are very pleased to announce the acquisition of his former employer, Ashley Power.

Mark worked for Ashley Power when they were known as Ashley Bearings back in the 1990s, but after leaving to set up his own very successful business he’s bought Ashley Power with a view to making it a more dominant force in the industry.

Mark explains,”Having started my career in bearings with Graham Tate and the Ashley team in 1984, I worked my way up to director level, but I left in 1997 to start Moore International – my own linear bearing and ballscrew supply company. This keeps me busy, especially as we now have full in-house CNC turning and milling capabilities, but I just couldn’t resist the Ashley opportunity when Graham approached me“.

Mark adds, “Despite the pandemic I’m pleased to report that we’re already making great progress and I’ve been able to keep all of the team in employment, even Graham, who’s slowly easing into retirement! The biggest change I’ve made is to rebrand back to Ashley Bearings as that’s how we’re fondly known in Poole, and some people thought the name ‘Ashley Power’ implied we supply gas and electricity! But customers realise that as a bearing supplier we stock a lot more than bearings, such as pulleys, gearboxes, motors, couplings, circlips, 0-rings, machine feet, seals and lubricants“.
