One week until Tank Museum on track wellbeing event

The Tank Museum’s annual wellbeing event, On Track, will be held on 5th October 2023 and will host an insightful line up of workshops and guest speakers that support the Armed Forces community and emergency services personnel.

Taking place in conjunction with World Mental Health Day, On Track will feature talks, workshops and focus-groups designed to provide day-to-day techniques and useful contacts for individuals to help build their own mental resilience and to support those around them.

On Track will be opened by the HM Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset, Angus Campbell, who served for many years in the Army Air Corps.

As well as powerful talks about lived experiences, there will be workshops on how to build a sense of community, mindfulness, and accessing financial support for serving armed forces, veterans, and their families.

Attendees will also get to visit exhibitors, such as Dorset Mental Health Forum, Veterans with Dogs & SSAFA.

One of the organisers, Rob Munro from NHS Dorset, said:

“I am delighted to be part of the team delivering On Track 2023, particularly as a veteran myself with a passion to support the Armed Forces Community. We’ve got an exciting line-up of speakers, each of whom bring a varied perspective into wellbeing using lived experience or shareable techniques.

“The event’s appeal will reach beyond the Armed Forces Community and emergency services, to include the local community as well.”

On Track is kindly supported by the National Lottery Community Fund and SSAFA, and is run in partnership with Bournemouth University, the Armed Forces Covenant, NHS Dorset, Dorset Armed Forces, AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust and Dorset Mental Health Forum.

Admission is free for serving Armed Forces, veterans, and past and present emergency services staff. Normal admission charges apply to other attendees. Pre-booking is recommended. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube for those who are unable to attend the day in person.
