Poole High School successfully approved to offer business related T Levels from 2023

Poole High School is pleased to announce our approval as a T-Level provider for Management and Administration, Finance and Accounting from September 2023. At the time of application, Poole High School will be the only provider in the BCP and local area to offer T-Levels in the business sector. T Levels are the new technical vocational qualifications which are the equivalent of 3 A Levels which include 315 hours of work experience over the two-year course.

Paul Gray, Head teacher says “This is immensely exciting. Not only are more of our sixth form students going on to Russell Group universities than ever before, but new doors of opportunity will now open to Poole High sixth form students. The opportunity to be able to specialise in a two-year Technical Programme of Study will further strengthen our links with local businesses, especially those in the finance sector. Having seen one of my own children start a graduate apprenticeship in this sector locally, my eyes have been opened to a whole new sphere of professional development. It’s an absolute privilege that our school can be a conduit for even wider future opportunities for the families of Poole. Work experience can sometimes be something of a lottery in terms of its engagement with academic study, students’ personal ambitions and high quality local prospects. T Levels place a ring of steel around these three elements. Anyone who believes in ‘success for all’ will welcome this overdue addition to the curriculum menu which chips away at the perception of a ‘class difference’ in qualifications”.

Emma Wyatt, Director of Vocational Education says “This is a really exciting opportunity for Poole High School to become a lead in Business Education in the local area that will ensure our students are ready for employment. It will also be invaluable for students to gain the best work experience in their chosen field that will ensure their success, not only in the course, but for their future progression”

Phase Two of our implementation plan is to successfully source a number of work experience placements across the local area within accountancy, finance and any other management and administration fields. If you are interested in supporting Poole High in offering a work experience opportunity, please email  Tlevels@poolehigh.poole.sch.uk and we will be in contact to discuss this further.
