Poole Photographer Wins Three Silver Awards in a Worldwide Competition
Anna Klesse, our own Dorset photographer with a studio in Poole just received three Silver Awards from WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers Intenational). WPPI is renowned, prestigious photographers association based in New York, USA.
‘It is an incredible honour to be placed on the same shelf as international masters who wins for years; and a great privilege. I am humbled, saying that I am ‘happy’ would be an understatement.’- says Anna.
She relocated to Dorset from London almost two years ago and re-established her business in here. Earlier this year she got a cover story for Femme Rebelle Magazine, then Brand Model Magazine, won 5 awards within last 3 months only: two by SWPP (The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) and three by MPA (Masters Photographers Association). She was also qualified as Master Photographer last month. One of her works, made for a client in Bournemouth was also displayed in Seoul in October this year as a part of an exhibition.
‘I am deeply honoured for all the successes this year. All the awards are always very satisfying, as it is recognition from within the industry proving high level and high value of my photography. I was asked recently ‘what is that I particularly love about being a photographer’. I realised that the most pleasure give me moments when my clients pick up their portraits from my studio with cries of joy and ‘wow’s’ on their mouth. There is nothing that gives me more satisfaction than a person who realises how I and others sees them; it is an empowering moment and a pure happiness on both sides’.
One of Anna’s clients – Eleonor said: ‘She made me feel like a star, you see – I am 60 and I probably won’t be one. But she does her magic and not only you look like one – you feel like one and sort of become one after you see your images created by her.’
We asked Anna about mentioning few stories with her clients: ‘I just love making people happy. I have many stories from clients, the most recent one was a photo-session gifted by a husband to a wife who recovered from stroke. They had few family images and the rest of the session was focused on the wife. She was blown away after seeing the images, and husband ordered large prints for their corridors. The other example was a mum and daughter photosession that I did a week ago. A mum was approaching her 80th birthdays and daughter wanted to have a beautiful portraits with her mum. They had a make up and hair style and they genuinely had fun. When they picked up their images few days ago I heard: ‘We look like a movie stars, it is a Hollywood standard’. Can anything be more satisfying than that?
