The team included the system engineers Javier, John and Aistis with the business development intern Josslyn and even the managing director Roy.
Roy, a seasoned jogger, was up for the challenge however, the rest of the team did not have as much experience. Therefore, a training plan was put together for the next two months
With training done and T-shirts handed out the day had dawned sunny. Two friends, Cookie and Sophie paced Roy to 7 miles then he dropped behind as planned to complete the remaining 6.1 miles to finish in 2 hours 1 minute only two minutes behind schedule. Javier, John, Aistis and Josslyn all completed ahead of their schedules. It was a beautiful day and vistas glimpsed between fraught mental attempts to override physical alerts and keep the stride together whilst the spirit encouraged onwards were well worth the effort.
It was a good use of a sunny Sunday with Keyfort supporting Diverse Abilities’ good cause and the community who lined the route supporting all the runners. Our thanks to the event organisers and we look forward to next year’s event.
