The Oaks, Highcliffe to host third ‘Dogs that Lunch’ monthly walk to celebrate launch of May ‘Lunch Club’ and dog menu

A dog friendly pub in Highcliffe is returning with their monthly dog walk initiative as well as inviting people to come and taste their new seasonal lunch menu.

To celebrate the launch of their May ‘Lunch Club’, The Oaks in Highcliffe will run its third monthly ‘Dogs that Lunch’ event. The pub will host a mid-week dog walk along the seafront on Thursday 30th May at 10:30am, organised and led by a member of their team, before regrouping back at the pub for a taste of their fixed price lunch menu.

The May Lunch Club which launched today will not only showcase some of the season’s best produce and give you a tasty, fixed price lunch menu, but also encourage locals to get out of their houses, get down to their local, and get cosy by the fire or in one of the pubs many homely spots.

During Lunch Club, served Monday to Friday from 12-5pm, diners can enjoy 2 courses for £18.50 or 3 courses for £23.50.

The Oaks, awarded the top 3 star rating from The Sustainable Restaurant Association, is unveiling a new fusion of seasonal delights as it showcases its third Lunch Club set menu of the year. The menu, which it changes monthly, is this time offering guests the freshest picks for the merry month of May.

This special edition Lunch Club is full of decadent flavours including a fabulously fresh and in season smoked mackerel pate starter, served with a sumptuously sweet rhubarb chutney using forced rhubarb grown by fourth-generation farmers, the Chinn family based in Herefordshire. A seasonal spotlight which also features in their luxurious panacotta dessert with rhubarb compote.

The new menu follows the release of Heartwood Inns’ new dedicated Dog Menu, which coincided with National Pet Day on April 11th, dogs can join their owners and indulge in a range of flavourful and nutritious dishes from canine hospitality partner Sir Woofchester, choosing from menu items including a ‘roast dinner bowl’ and ‘fish and chips’.

This isn’t the only thing guests, and their dogs, can sink their teeth into at The Oaks, from Happy Hour every weekday from 5-7pm, Wednesday Steak Nights, Sunday roasts with bottomless trimmings and live music every Friday, the dog friendly pub in Highcliffe is keen to be a hub for the community.
