This January, staff and children at Tops Wareham celebrated the nursery’s 20th birthday. The afternoon welcomed special guests including Marty Mouse as well as previous parents, children and staff members to reunite for this special day.
Everyone shared their favourite memories of their time at Tops to add to the memory tree and enjoyed a visit from a special guest, Marty Mouse!
Tops Day Nurseries in Wareham first opened its doors on 3rd January 2000 and was the second nursery to open within the Tops Day Nurseries family.
The old residential building underwent a huge renovation and was converted into the beautiful setting Tops Wareham has resided in for the last 20 years.
Over the years, hundreds of children have passed through the doors of Tops Wareham, many of whom still have fond memories of the time spent there.
In 2003, Chloe Medley enrolled at Tops Wareham when she was 6 months old and attended until her pre-school graduation day. Now, Chloe is 16 and has returned to the nursery as a Level 1 childcare student.
Chloe said “I used to love coming to nursery as a child, I can still remember the names of my Key Workers, the activities the amazing staff provided, trips and key skills I had learnt during my time there. It wasn’t until I was in secondary school that I really thought about my memories of my early years education, I realised what an incredible job the staff at the nursery do. If I have all of these brilliant memories, so many others that would have attended the nursery must have them too and that’s something I knew I wanted to be part of.”
Nicky Willetts, Nursery Manager joined the Tops Day Nurseries family in 1996 as a practitioner in Parkstone. When Tops Wareham opened in January 2000, Nicky moved to manage the brand new setting and continues to manage the nursery today. Just like Nicky, some staff members at Wareham have been part of the family for many years and have enjoyed helping the children grow during their time there.
Over the years, Tops Wareham has made some incredible achievements. The award-winning nursery has consistently held an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted for more than 10 years and achieved full quality accreditation in all rooms.
