Upton Bay care home in Poole has been selected as a regional finalist in two separate categories – Care Team of the Year and Activities Coordinator of the Year – for the South West region at the Great British Care Awards 2023.
The South West Regional Awards are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of nine regional awards celebrating excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to promote best practice within both the home care and care home sectors, and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
As the finalist for the South West, the team from Upton Bay has been invited to attend the awards gala ceremony on November 23rd at Aston Gate Bristol where their achievements will be celebrated, and the Regional Winners will be announced. All Regional Winners will then go through to the next round of judging to decide the National Winners in each category.
Karen Grant-A’Court is a devoted Wellbeing Activities Lead who has made a huge contribution to the success of the home, she is adored by staff and residents alike. Karen takes a lot of pride in knowing her residents well, ensuring they are all living life to the full and that they get to continue the hobbies and interests they love as well as trying out some new things along the way.
