Westover add driving force to military Trek

Westover Group, part of the UK’s largest network of motor dealerships, has confirmed it will be supporting a group of serving and ex-serving soldiers as well as civilians in their quest to trek 446-miles over 10 days to raise money for the Household Cavalry Foundation and Royal British Legion.

With the Westover Group managing one of the only two UK military-authorised Land Rover and Jaguar retailers accredited to sell vehicles at special rates to military, embassy and diplomatic personnel as well as ex-serving personnel, supporting this charitable pursuit is significant to the Westover Group team.

The Westover Group has supplied a Land Rover Discovery 3.0-litre HSE SDV6 to act as the support vehicle throughout the 446-mile journey.  The vehicle is a practical and capable large SUV, accommodating up to seven adults.  Land Rover Discovery HSE SDV6 features electronically controlled air-suspension and Land Rover’s Terrain Response system which allows the driver to adjust the diffs, ride height and traction control to suit different grip conditions.

The military team will depart from Windsor Castle on July 29 and walk to Edinburgh Castle, arriving on August 7.  Throughout their journey, the support team who will provide any medical assistance will be alongside the trekkers to help ensure the journey is completed successfully. Each person will cover at least 20 miles every day and sometimes there will be two teams walking to cover the distance within 10 days.

Andy Grant, group Jaguar Land Rover brand and sales operations director at the Westover Group, says: “We are really proud to support this mission to help the team in their quest to raise money for two worthy causes.  We wish them every success in the challenge.”

Established in 1923, the Westover Group operates from 28 locations across Dorset and Wiltshire and represents 15 vehicle manufacturers – Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Dacia, Fiat, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lotus, Nissan, Renault, Skoda and Toyota.  The motor firm is now part of the Hendy Group.
