Westover awarded at the 2019 What Car? Awards

The Westover Group, one of the south’s largest privately-owned motoring groups, is celebrating after its associated brands Kia, Skoda, Alfa Romeo and Hyundai won top awards in the annual 2019 What Car? awards.

The awards are only given to the best new cars that set the highest standards in their class each year, while only the very best of the best gets to be crowned the overall champion with the What Car? Car of the Year award.

The Kia e-Niro, the all-electric version of the Kia Niro SUV, received the ultimate Car of the Year accolade with judges acknowledging its impressive 253 miles between a single charge, how quick on the road it feels and its spacious interior. Due to its long range, the Kia e-Niro received double success being also awarded the Best Electric Car award.

  • Best City Car: Kia Picanto 1.25 3
  • Best Family Car: Skoda Octavia 1.5 TSI 150 SE L
  • Best Estate Car: Skoda Superb Estate 2.0 TDI 150 SE Technology
  • Best Performance: Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo 510
  • Best Hybrid Car: Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid Premium
  • Technology Award: Hyundai electric and hydrogen fuel cell technology

What Car? is known for its thoroughness when assessing new cars, with all vehicles driven back-to-back with their rivals on road and track, and practicality, equipment, running costs and fuel economy are all factored into the final verdicts.
