Yellows in the pink for Arts by the Sea

Yellow Buses is adding some colour to this year’s Arts by the Sea Festival in Bournemouth by giving a free ride to the legion of volunteers.

Clad in pink, the volunteers will helping visitors at the three day extravaganza that runs from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 September.

They have been issued with passes for Yellow Buses so they can get around easily.

Arts by the Sea was launched by BCP Council in 2011 and has become a fixture in the calendar.

It is a celebration of art, culture, people and place, designed to raise the town’s profile and help create a sense of community.

Yellow Buses has long been a supporter of the arts and is throwing its fleet behind the carnivalesque celebration.

Andrea Francis, Festival Director, said: “We are extremely grateful to Yellow Buses for supporting the festival again.

“Not only have they given passes to our volunteers, but also to those who have been visiting schools to engage with children about the arts.

“We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the events and Yellow Buses will help that happen.”

Amylee Foot from the Yellows said: “We are a big supporter of the arts and have a gallery bus and poetry bus running on regular services.

“We have given 175 days’ worth of tickets so the volunteers and can get around in order to help the public.”

Yellow Buses was bought out by a senior management team from its French owners in July and is now locally owned.
