Church House Investment Management supporting UK investors through stewardship standards

The UK Stewardship Code 2020 from the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) sets high standards for those investing money on behalf of UK savers and pensioners. Stewardship is the responsible allocation, management and oversight of capital to create long-term value for clients and beneficiaries, leading to sustainable benefits for the economy, the environment and society.

Following the submission of a comprehensive report detailing how they address the extensive standards of the code and rigorous review from the FRC, Church House Investment Management has been confirmed as a signatory.

Since the code was first launched in 2010, much has changed, and environmental, particularly climate change and social factors and governance, have become material issues for investors. The FRC has recognised this in the latest code, the standards of which can play a vital role in investing for a more sustainable future.

Director and Head of Private Clients at Church House, James Johnsen, said “We take the responsibility of managing money on behalf of individuals, Trustees and Charities very seriously. Furthermore, it is important to us that when investing in companies, we aim to support their initiatives to improve sustainability.

Collectively our Investment Team has decades of investing experience, but we welcomed the opportunity to benchmark our governance, approach and engagement against the exacting standards of the FRC. Our inclusion as a signatory of the code is testament to the expertise and commitment of the team.”
