In January and February, we provided legal updates on two particular changes which were to be introduced on 6 April 2020:
- Changes to written statements of particulars of employment; and
- New laws on bereavement leave and pay.
Why is this important?
Employers will be expected to comply with these new statutory obligations. Your current contracts and policies may need to be updated if they don’t comply.
What should you do?

- Check to see if your contracts and policies comply and if not, update them.
- Ensure you are familiar with your new obligations.
