Greendale Construction back on site at new Lewis Manning Hospice

Chartered Building Company Greendale Construction Limited, has reached the final stages of its extension and fit out to the new Lewis Manning Hospice on Longfleet Road, Poole.

Having been on site since early January 2020, the team has made good progress, paused only by the recent COVID-19 lockdown. On 4th May 2020 the team returned to site, this time following guidance on social distancing and site operating procedures from both the Government and the Construction Leadership Council.

Working to a 13-week overall programme, the Greendale team have stripped out the existing building and now working with QP Architecture and Bennington Green Surveyors to fit out both floors as per the client’s specification. The top floor will see largely offices and private meeting rooms, separated by glazed partitioning to create an open plan, collaborative feel. Downstairs work is on the way to build a new front extension and main entrance. Treatment rooms will form the basis of the ground floor, which echoes the welcoming atmosphere Lewis Manning has built a reputation for.

The new site is within metres of Poole Hospital, as well as accessible by the majority of bus routes in Dorset.

Chris Kane, Director, commented: “We have a great relationship with Clare and the team at Lewis Manning Hospice. We’ve been working collaboratively to create a fantastic new day hospice, which is a huge part of many patient’s lives. We are respectful of the pause created by the COVID-19 pandemic and look forward to completing the job in June 2020.”
