McKenna Townsend shortlisted for CIPR Excellence Award

Ringwood-based full-service PR, social media and marketing agency, McKenna Townsend (MT) has been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Excellence Award – the industry’s leading PR awards scheme that recognises the work of public relations practitioners around the globe.

The agency’s shortlisting is in the Environmental Campaign category for its work to launch the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) ground-breaking research report, Pathways to Propulsion Decarbonisation for the Recreational Marine Industry. The report was the first of its kind in the marine industry and outlined a portfolio of technologies best positioned to continue to propel the industry toward decarbonisation.

With a number of target audiences to reach, including marine industry leaders, global marine media, boat users and governments/regulators, MT launched the report at the world’s largest and only international B2B exhibition for the marine leisure industry, METSTRADE. A global PR programme was also executed to drive wider coverage and awareness of the report, along with a consumer launch at boot Düsseldorf – the world’s largest yacht and watersports show.
The winners of the CIPR Excellence Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on 26th June at The Royal Lancaster London.

Sarah Townsend, Co-Founder and Managing Director of McKenna Townsend, said: “We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted for a CIPR Excellence Award. The Awards are highly competitive and we’re delighted our activity for ICOMIA’s marine industry decarbonisation report has been recognised by the industry. We are very passionate about sustainability at McKenna Townsend, and the shortlisting underpins our commitment to communicating ESG messages for our clients.

“We are now looking forward to the awards dinner in June, where hopefully we will be celebrating again.”
