New General Manager Takes Over Brew-tiful Bournemouth Brewhouse & Kitchen

Experienced hospitality professional, Richard Dymott has taken over the Bournemouth Brewhouse & Kitchen as the new General Manager.

Originally from London, Richard Dymott has been appointed the General Manager of Bournemouth’s Brewhouse & Kitchen (B&K). With abundant experience, Richard began his career in hospitality at the age of fifteen washing pots at his local pub. He has since climbed the career ladder into management roles and now, for the first time, he is running an entire B&K microbrewery and restaurant.

Three years ago, Richard chanced upon the Brewhouse & Kitchen in Islington which at the time was the sixth pub to open in the country. Impressed by his experience Richard was inspired to join the group because it really stood out from the traditional pub crowd. The B&K’s brew their own unique craft beers on-site as well as matching every dish on their menu to a style of beer. Having grown rapidly in recent years, the grown-up pub group is now looking to open its 19th establishment in the UK.

Now living in Dorset, Richard spent time as the Deputy Manager at the Southbourne Brewhouse & Kitchen. When the Bournemouth pub opened he seized the opportunity to finally take the lead and run his own establishment. As General Manager he is responsible for reporting to head office, clerical duties, ordering stock as well as assisting on the restaurant floor and providing a friendly face behind the bar. He is also responsible for leading a small but efficient team of 15, which includes the management team, kitchen staff, bar team and restaurant team, plus a Master Brewer and Apprentice.

Richard Dymott said:

“I’ve worked for the B&K for nearly three years now and am extremely passionate about the company. Having spent my entire career in hospitality, I am thrilled to take over the General Manager role at the new and attractive Bournemouth B&K. Fully utilising an exceptional venue, I am already putting together some big plans to enhance our offering.’’

Situated on Commercial Road next to the Bournemouth Triangle, the Bournemouth B&K features attractive seasoned wood, warm colour and original feature decor, in addition to large copper beer tanks. It also enjoys a comfortable downstairs bar area, large upstairs eating spaces and the largest beer garden in central Bournemouth.

Richard continues:

“Currently we are looking forward to a very busy Christmas season. By next year we want to expand our large beer garden with additional seating, more private beach huts and a separate outdoor bar. I am also planning to make further investments in the team, introducing new training initiatives and an apprenticeships programme.’’
