The Paul Cornes Fund Established with The Dorset Community Foundation to Support Young People in Education and Older People in Fuel Poverty

Dorset Community Foundation is marking the set-up of The Paul Cornes Fund, established by his partner, Tom Flood and supported by friends and loved ones in memory of Paul and his fondness for Dorset.

The fund will support projects which address disadvantage and create opportunities, improving the lives of people across Dorset. Initially, The Paul Cornes Fund will focus on supporting education and older people in fuel poverty, however, with time, the fund will expand to support other projects helping people make their lives better – bringing joy where there is disadvantage or suffering. To begin with grants from The Paul Cornes Fund will be awarded through The DCF Bursary Scheme and its Surviving Winter Fund, both existing Dorset Community Foundation grant-making programmes.

Grant Robson, Foundation Director explained: ‘We are thrilled to be establishing this new charitable fund in memory of Paul and helping his positivity and enthusiasm endure, making a significant impact locally and where the need is most.’

Tom Flood, Paul’s partner added: ‘I’m so pleased that the fund set up in memory of Paul will help us direct funding to some wonderful projects and bring hope and joy to many. I am delighted Dorset Community Foundation can help in this wonderful way, removing the red-tape and allowing me to focus on what mattered to Paul – helping people.’

Dorset Community Foundation, a local grant-maker, connects those who want to give to local causes that matter. The Foundation delivers charitable funds for individuals, families, companies, charitable trusts and Govt. departments to target disadvantage and help people in need all across Dorset using their extensive knowledge, guidance and expertise.
